S E L J A L A N D S F O S S After arriving, settling in, and having a good "night's" sleep, we headed out on on a little road trip. It was sunny when we left, but the weather quickly deteriorated on our way down the 'Ring' road. By the time we arrived to our first stop, it was rainy with lots of low clouds. I was terribly disappointed that the weather did not cooperate - it's incredibly challenging to throw on a large ND filter and not get rain drops all over the glass. Luckily, this one was without rain drops on the glass. Fear not, I am persistent and as I take you through our journey - you MAY see that I took a second trip in the hopes of better weather. Seljalandsfoss is a 200 ft waterfall over cliffs that were a former coastline. You can (and I did) walk behind the waterfall - yes, I got soaked.
I C E L A N D (continued) - Trying to take you on the journey in order this is still at our home-base just outside of Selfoss - it's the view from our front deck. It never did actually get dark, I think this was taken at 11:30pm; This time of year, after the sun "sets", it stays so close to the horizon that the sky remains light for the 3 hours until it rises again. It really does mess with your head, but was VERY cool to experience.
